of the surrounding cruises (1.45 μmol kg−1 vs 1.46 μmol kg−1). The MLR offset

06MT20101014 - silicate
The deep water average of this cruise is 34.78 μmol kg−1, whereas the GLODAPv2
average of the surrounding cruises is 35.63 μmol kg−1, i.e. 2.44% higher. Two
MLR (note their rel. large RMSE) also indicate too high concentrations but
differ strongly in the magnitude, even though the predictor variables seem all
fine. Note the large range obtained from the 15 (21) individual sample offsets.
All in all, silicate is very likely too low but it is not possible to obtain a
robust adjustment.

06MT20101014 - phosphate
The deep water average of this cruise fits quite nicely to the GLODAPv2 average
of the surrounding cruises (1.45 μmol kg−1 vs 1.46 μmol kg−1). The MLR offset
(15 samples) is in line with that, too. Maintain.

06MT20101014 - silicate
The deep water average of this cruise is 34.78 μmol kg−1, whereas the GLODAPv2
average of the surrounding cruises is 35.63 μmol kg−1, i.e. 2.44% higher. Two
MLR (note their rel. large RMSE) also indicate too high concentrations but
differ strongly in the magnitude, even though the predictor variables seem all
fine. Note the large range obtained from the 15 (21) individual sample offsets.
All in all, silicate is very likely too low but it is not possible to obtain a
robust adjustment.

The deep water averages indicate good accuracy (21.44 μmol kg−1 vs 21.63 μmol
kg−1). Two MLR analyses support this result (based on 15 and 21 samples), as
does the Redfield ratio. Maintain.

The majority of stations show reasonable saturation ratios, which are clearly
within the 5% tolerance.
Following the total mean ratio of 0.99 +/- 0.05 no adjustment needed.
